Rihanna equals Madonna's UK chart record with 'Unapologetic' Rihanna Tickets

Rihanna has equalled Madonna's UK Album Chart record as her new album 'Unapologetic' enters at Number One.

The Bajan star's seventh album is her third consecutive UK Number One, following on from last year's 'Talk That Talk' and 2010's 'Loud', and sold almost 100,000 copies this week, according to the Official Charts Company.

The singer, who recently finished her ambitious '777 Tour' which saw 150 journalists follow the star around the world as she played seven gigs in seven countries over seven days, knocked One Direction off the top spot. Their album, 'Take Me Home', is down to Number Two.

Elsewhere, Little Mix are new in at Number Three with their debut album 'DNA', Led Zeppelin's live album 'Celebration' debuts at Number Four while 'Christmas' by Michael Bublé completes this week's Top Five.

Other new entries include Susan Boyle's 'Standing Ovation – The Greatest Songs' (7) and Example's 'The Evolution Of Man' (13). AC/DC's 'Live At River Plate' re-enters the chart at Number 14.

In the Official UK Singles Chart, Olly Murs beat off stiff competition from Girls Aloud to secure his fourth Number One single with 'Troublemaker'. 'Something New', Girls Aloud's comeback single, is at Number Two.

One Direction's 'Little Things', last week's Number One, is down two places to Number Three while 'Beneath Your Beautiful', Labrinth's collaboration with Emeli Sandé, is at Number Four. Alicia Keys’ 'Girl On Fire' is new in at Number Five.

Meanwhile, having made their entire back catalogue available on iTunes earlier this week, AC/DC return to the Official Singles Chart as 'Back In Black' makes its chart debut 22 years since its original release (27), while 'Highway To Hell' re-enters at Number 40.
