Ex-Beatles man Ringo Starr to kick off Liverpool culture party

Ringo Starr is set to kick of Liverpool’s year-long celebrations for being crowned European Capital Of Culture tonight (January 11).

The legendary former Beatles drummer will perform a new song on top of St George’s Hall in Liverpool city centre.

The Wombats and the former Eurythmics star Dave Stewart will also perform at the celebrations.

The ceremony starts at 8pm GMT and is expected to attract around 30,000 people. The show is expected to last for around 40 minutes.

Tomorrow (January 12) Starr, The Wombats, Echo And The Bunnymen and The Farm are among acts set to perform at Liverpool’s Echo Arena as part of the year-long celebrations.
