ROBBIE'S ROCK'S OFF!

Those expecting a new 'rock' direction from the pop superstar may be surprised at its title...

ROBBIE'S ROCK'S OFF!

Robbie Williams' new single is to be called 'I DON'T WANNA ROCK DJ', casting doubt on the rumours he will undertake a new 'Rock' direction on his return into the musical spotlight.

The single will be released on July 31 through EMI, and will be the first track from his new, as yet untitled new album, which is due in the early autumn.

A spokesperson for Williams refused to reveal any more details on the nature of the track. However, speculation has been mounting for a number of months that Williams' influences have become more guitar-based after he was spotted at London gigs by Filter, Nine Inch Nails and Dark Star in recent weeks, as well as a showcase of stoner rock outfits High On Fire and Alabama Thunderpussy.

Williams is also one of the names rumoured to be making an appearance at the annual celebrity Soccer Six Football Tournament at Chelsea FC this Saturday (27 May).
