Robbie and Kylie doing it live for the 'Kids'

Robbie romances Kylie at Manchester gig...

Robbie Williams was joined onstage by Kylie Minogue last night
(October 26) during his sell out show at the 16,000 capacity MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS
ARENA
.

r /> The pint sized Australian starlet joined the former Take That member for a rousing
set-closing run through their recent UK number Two hit 'Kids'.
However fans expecting any onstage revelations about the nature of the couple's relationship (Williams'
has talked at length recently about his obsession with Minogue) were
left disappointed.

Williams introduced the singer saying only "Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Kylie
Minogue
" though on her departure he did remark that Minogue, resplendent
in a figure -hugging shimmering dress, looked "great" and joked about nipping off backstage
to join her.
Kylie remained side-stage throughout the remaining four-song encore.

Her appearance capped a triumphant night for Robbie Williams. The
arena was one of
the largest on the current tour and following the crowd singalong during his
trademark tune
'Angels', an obviously moved Williams said, "this has been the
best show of the tour
so far and you made that possible. Thank you".

Williams, running through hits including 'Strong', 'She
s The One'
, recent
chart topper 'Rock DJ', a version of 'Millennium' that segued
into 'Can I Kick
It'
and a cover of Frank Sinatra classic 'My Way', frequently
lived up to his
cheeky entertainer image. At one point he poked fun at his battle against weight
problems leading
the crowd through a chorus of "who ate all the pies?".

The gig was webcast live through www.robbiewilliams.com, though the
broadcast
wasn't
without hitches. Fans unable to see him in the flesh - tickets for all the dates
on the tour were
snapped up within minutes of going on sale - flooded the site. The resultant
heavy traffic
overloaded the system constantly freezing both sound and image and making the
show practically
unwatchable for the first hour.

Williams continues his tour tonight (October 27), again in the
Manchester
Evening
News Arena
.
