SING WHEN YOU'RE DRINKING!
Three women in STOKE are planning to open a ROBBIE WILLIAMS theme pub in the bar where the singer grew up.

The trio, Lisa Smith, Donna Chevin and Dawn Greatbach, recently bought the run down Red Lion bar in the Burslem area of the town. Robbie spent much his childhood living in the bar when it was run by his mother Jan.

According to the News Of The World newspaper, the pub hit hard times when the family moved out. The new owners are hoping his reputation will help make it a shrine for Robbie fans.

"We sat down one night and came up with the idea of a Robbie theme pub," explains Lisa. "He's put a lot into the community and we really wanted to honour him."

The Red Lion is not the only local bar hoping to cash in on the fame of the town's most famous son. Robbie and his family also lived opposite The Ancient Briton, a pub which became his local.

The Ancient Briton's landlady Janet Cartlidge says: "We plan to have Robbie tribute nights. He was one of the lads. He used to come in here most nights and play pool."

Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash was also born and lived the early part of his life in the Midlands town. However, there are no current plans to open a theme pub for the rock wildman.
