Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker set for ‘Freelancer’

Police drama set to start filming next month

Robert De Niro has signed up to act in forthcoming cop film Freelancers.

Forest Whitaker is also in talks for a role in the film, reports Deadline.com.

Curtis Jackson will play the lead role – the son of a dead Los Angeles police officer who joins the Police Academy.

Shooting is set to start on April 18 in New Orleans. Jessy Terrero is directing the movie, with De Niro set to play the part of the dead policeman’s former partner, Captain Vic Sarcone, who takes Jackson‘s character under his wing.

No release plan has been announced yet.
