Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards to return for ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 4’

Guitarist will play Johnny Depp's dad again

The Rolling Stones Keith Richards is set to reprise his role as Captain Teague in the forthcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth instalment of the franchise.

Richards made a cameo in the last film, At World’s End, playing the father of Johnny Depp‘s Captain Jack Sparrow.

Depp had long maintained he had based the character on the guitarist.

According to Reuters.com, Depp and Richards “are currently shooting the fourth Pirates installment, where Richards reprises his role as Sparrow‘s father”.

Meanwhile Richards said he did not recognise Depp, who as a friend of his son was a regular visitor to The Rolling Stones guitarust’s house, until he saw 1990’s Edward Scissorhands and realised the actor was a dinner guest.

“I was like, ‘Whoa! Scissorhands!'” admitted Richards.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is currently shooting in London ahead of a May 2011 release, while Richards publishes his memoirs, Life, on October 26.
