He suffers concussion after falling out of a tree

legend Keith Richards has been hospitalised in New Zealand after injuring himself in a bizarre accident on the island of Fiji.

The star reportedly hurt his head when he fell out of a palm tree at an exclusive Fijian resort. It is not clear what he was doing in the tree. Richards suffered a "mild concussion" and was taken to hospital as a precaution, Stones spokeswoman Fran Curtis said.

The accident happened earlier this week and he was flown to Auckland's Ascot Hospital on Thursday.

"Following treatment locally and as a precautionary measure he flew to a hospital accompanied by his wife Patti for observation," Curtis said. She also said she did not know how the accident happened.

The Stones are half-way through a world tour. They are due to start the European leg in Barcelona in May.
