Think that collaboration's bizarre? Well, would you believe if we told you they were doing 'Pinocchio'?...

Teen heart-throb Ronan Keating has teamed up with superstar trance DJ Paul Oakenfold for an adaptation of the fairytale 'PINOCCHIO' on a show for the GALAXY radio network.

In what looks set to be one of the more bizarre collaborations of recent years, Ronan will be reading the classic tale of the puppet who comes to life as a contribution to the Galaxy Network's monthly show, 'Paul Oakenfold's Urban Soundtracks'. The format of the show is a slightly surreal mixture of a bedtime story and an ambient sound collage. The celebrity reads the story (previous efforts have included Kylie Minogue reading ''Alice's Adventures In Wonderland'' and Neil Tennant reading 'The Picture Of Dorian Grey'), then Oakenfold selects and mixes an appropriate soundtrack. The station describes the result as a "'Jackanory' for the chemical generation."

'Paul Oakenfold's Urban Soundtracks' will be broadcast on August 26 from 10pm-12am across the Galaxy Radio Network: Galaxy 101 (South Wales And West), Galaxy 102 (Manchester), Galaxy 102.2 (Birmingham), Galaxy 105 (Yorkshire), Galaxy 105-106 (North East) and online at
