ROXETTE singer MARIE FREDRIKSSON has successful undergone surgery to remove a brain tumour.

The operation was carried out at the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm on Monday (September 30), according to the Swedish daily Expressen.

"The surgery took almost four hours and the medical team was able to remove the entire tumour," ,Roxette manager Marie Dimberg said.

"She feels marvellously well and wishes to spend the weekend at home,"a friend added.

Doctors are confident she'll make a full recovery.

Fredriksson was diagnosed with a tumour on September 11 after fainting at her home in Stockholm.

The 44-year-old singer's husband Micke and two children are at her bedside in hospital.

The group scored their biggest hit in 1991 with 'Joyride', and have enjoyed considerable success in the US and Europe since.
