ROYAL FAMILY AFFAIR CAUSES DATES TO BE SHELVED

But the band's appearances at the UK's Carling Weekend festivals should still go ahead...

Royal Trux have been forced to cancel seven shows on their current US tour due to a family illness.

Reports from America indicate that a serious illness in the family of guitarist/vocalist Jennifer Herrema has led to the cancellation.

Dates up to and including July 4 in Newport Kentucky have been shelved. A further leg of the US tour kicking off on August 2 in Vancouver has been given a tentative green light.

A UK spokesperson for the band said that at present their appearance at the Carling Weekender (Reading August 25, Leeds 28) was still going ahead. Dates and venues of an extensive UK tour in September will be announced soon.

As previously announced on nme.com, a Royal Trux song, 'The Inside Game', is set to appear on the soundtrack to 'High Fidelity', the forthcoming John Cusack starring adaptation of Nick Hornby's best seller.
