Rufus Wainwright names new project
Big follow up planned for 'Release The Stars'
Rufus Wainwright is planning a big follow up to his album ’Release The Stars’.
The singer has been commissioned to write the opera ’Prima Donna’, a libretto commissioned by the Met in Manhattan.
Wainwright told Paper magazine: “It’s a small story about one day in the life of a soprano. There aren’t huge set pieces of historial shifts - it’s only got four characters.”
Wainwright is currently on tour in the US but is set to play Glastonbury's Other Stage on June 22.
