Singer recreates Judy Garland's 1961 performance

Rufus Wainwright has announced that he will release a CD and DVD of his interpretation of Judy Garland's legendary 1961 Carnegie Hall performance.

The double-disc CD, 'Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall', as well as the DVD 'Rufus! Rufus! Rufus! Does Judy! Judy! Judy! Live at the London Palladium' are both set to be released in the US on December 4.

Each set contains the 27-song recreation of Garland's performance. The CD set includes songs from Wainwright's June 14, 2006 show at New York's Carnegie Hall. The DVD was filmed during the singer's February 25, 2007 performance at the London Palladium.

Both sets feature tracks including 'Over The Rainbow', 'Zing! Went The Strings Of My Heart' and 'Puttin' On The Ritz',' reports Billboard.

Wainwright was accompanied by a 36-piece orchestra on several of the tracks.
