Run-DMC star's kids to release footwear line
Daughters follow in dad's footsteps
The daughters of former Run-DMC rapper Reverend Joseph ‘Run’ Simmons are set to repeat their father’s achievements by releasing their own line of footwear.
Vanessa and Angela Simmons have created a new line of shoes called Pastry Footwear - intended to be a colourful, athletic shoe aimed at young women.
The collection will include such variations as Chocolate Mousse, Strawberry Shortcake and Red Velvet, with each pair being packaged with a tube of lip gloss and featuring a colour/scent that matches the shoe’s theme.
The designs are scheduled to hit US stores on March 23, and have strong echoes to Run-DMC being asked to design their own line of shoes for Adidas back in the late 1980s.
The development will also be chronicled in the new series of MTV’s reality show ‘Run’s House’, which features the day-to-day activities of the Simmons household and will air in the spring.
