The rising star ropes in his chums to feature in the promo for 'Answering Bell'...

RYAN ADAMS RINGS IN NEW YEAR!
Man of the moment Ryan Adams will release 'ANSWERING BELL' as the second single from 2001's critically acclaimed 'GOLD', NME.COM can reveal.

Though no release date has been set, NME.COM understands that the track, the follow-up last November's 'New York, New York', should appear in March. The video for the track will be shot in New York on January 11 and feature a number of Ryan Adams' well known friends, though their identity is being guarded at present.

In related news, a misunderstanding at a hotel reception desk led to a meeting between Ryan Adams and the similarly monikered Canadian rocker Bryan Adams. The pair were checking into the same hotel just before Christmas when the front desk became worried it was about the book the same person in twice.

The pair were introduced and Ryan Adams asked Bryan if he too would like appear in the video. The veteran artist refused blaming work commitments. There are no plans for a collaboration between the two.
