WHAT'S THE STORY? BRIXTON GLORY!

NOEL GALLAGHER was the surprise special guest at Ryan Adams' LONDON BRIXTON ACADEMY show last night, working through a rousing set closing cover of OASIS 'MORNING GLORY'.

Gallagher had performed guest guitars with support band Proud Mary, the group he signed to his Sour Mash label, earlier - on a cover of the Rolling Stones' 'Salt Of The Earth'.

However, he also appeared on stage with Ryan Adams too at the show's close, introduced with the words "This is it". Earlier, Ryan Adams had covered Oasis' 'Wonderwall'.

As in the first show on this current brief UK tour in Manchester on Sunday (April 7), Ryan Adams stuck mainly to tracks from recent album 'Gold' - highlights including 'Nobody Girl', 'Touch, Feel, Lose' and 'Silver and Gold'. However, unlike at the Manchester show he did not cover The Strokes - despite repeated calls for 'Last Nite' from the crowd.

He rounds off the three date tour - all of which dates are NME 5.0 shows - at Brixton Academy tonight (April 10).
