Ryan Adams has announced the release of a new single, 'Gimme Something Good'.

The release is the first new solo material from Adams since 2011's 'Ashes & Fire' LP. The 7" release of the song will be backed with another track called 'I Just Might', and comes out on July 1. Paste reports that a new album from Adams is set for release later this year. Adams will headline the Newport Folk Festival in North America in July.

Meanwhile, Adams has recently been working with Jenny Lewis co-producing her new album 'The Voyager' with Beck and Lewis' partner Jonathan Rice. The album will be available in the UK on July 28.

Last year Adams worked with Fall Out Boy on their hardcore-inspired 'Pax Am Days' record. The eight-track punk album was available as a standalone digital release and as part of a limited edition reissue of their 2013 LP 'Save Rock and Roll'. The record was recorded at Adams' Pax Am studio in Hollywood over the course of two days.
