Reps confirmed that the 'Blue Valentine' actor's schedule was never firmed up
Ryan Gosling will not be starring the new movie of The Lone Ranger, his representatives have confirmed.
It was widely reported over the weekend that the Blue Valentine star was in talks to take the lead in Disney‘s new version of the long-running western TV series.
However, the actor’s representatives have now confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he will not appear in the film. Gosling‘s schedule had never been firmed up. He will next be seen in this summer’s Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Johnny Depp has long been attached to the part of the hero’s Native American sidekick Tonto. The Disney remake will reunite Depp with Pirates Of The Caribbean helmer Gore Bervinski, and the film is due for release in 2014.
The Lone Ranger originally ran from 1949-1957.
