S CLUB TO SPLIT
The pop idols call it a day...
S CLUB have announced they are to split at the end of May.
The remaining six members of the pop group told fans at a concert at London Docklands Arena last night (April 21) they would go their separate ways after four years of chart success.
A statement released by the group said: "With any job there comes a time to move on and to face new challenges. We've experienced so much more than we ever imagined and we've enjoyed a huge amount of success."
Rumours of an impending split have dogged the band since member Paul Cattermole left S Club 7 last year, and recently when lead singer Jo O'Meara revealed she had a debilitating back condition.
The six members, Jo O'Meara, Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearitt, Bradley Mcintosh, Jon Lee and Tina Barrett recently released the S Club feature film, 'Seeing Double'.
The band enjoyed ten top-five singles and four multi-platinum albums, and also won a Brit Award for Best Single at last year's ceremony.
