Sam Smith's home was reportedly robbed while he was performing at Glastonbury over the weekend.

The Sun writes that the chart-topping singer went back to his home in south London after the festival to find he had been burgled. A source spoke to the newspaper, commenting: "Sam and his mates were all down at the festival when it happened. They took a number of items from his property. Sam was gutted when he got back."

Last month Smith made US chart history with his debut album 'In The Lonely Hour'. The British singer's LP scored the best-selling week of any UK male singer since Soundscan started tracking sales data 23 years ago, selling 166,000 copies. His album didn't make the Number One spot in the Billboard chart though, which was taken by Lana Del Rey's second album, 'Ultraviolence', which sold 182,000 copies. Smith's single 'Stay With Me' has now sold over one million copies Stateside.

Sam Smith had the fastest selling debut album of 2014 so far with 'In The Lonely Hour' in the UK. The singer's first LP went straight to the top of the Official Albums Chart at the start of June, knocking Coldplay's 'Ghost Stories' off the Number One spot.

Sam Smith will tour the UK this October. He plays:

Glasgow O2 ABC (October 23)
Leeds O2 Academy (24)
Newcastle O2 Academy (25)
Birmingham O2 Academy (27)
Nottingham Rock City (28)
Manchester Albert Hall (29)
Cambridge Corn Exchange (November 3)
Bristol Colston Hall (4)
London Eventim Apollo Hammersmith (6)
