Santogold changes name to Santigold

No explanation given for new title

Santogold has changed her name to Santigold, but has offered no explanation as to why she adopted the new moniker.

The Brooklyn-based artist, whose real name is Santi White, confirmed the new name in a press release saying simply: "Santogold is now Santigold. She's not telling you why, that's just how it is. No unpronounceable symbol, no numbers where they shouldn't be, no random capitalization, just plain ass Santigold so remember that."

Baltimore man Santo Rigatuso last year filed a suit against White for using the name Santogold, which he says he's been using since 1983.

Hmmm, maybe it's because she was getting going to be sued by a guy going under the moniker Santo Gold for the last few decades... Do your homework.

One simple change of vowel is still not enough to stop her sounding like a brand of ladies sanitary products.
