Savage Garden have split, and the band's Daniel
Jones found out that the duo were no more by reading it in a newspaper.
Singer Darren Hayes broke the news without telling
Jones. Jones said that his understanding was
that he and his partner would be taking a break from the band to pursue solo
projects.
Jones has started a small production company, while
Hayes is launching a solo career and is gearing up to the
release of a solo album, provisionally titled 'Spin'.
Jones told The Sydney Morning Herald: "I
have always looked at a band like Eurythmics[/url]
who have had separate careers within a band and we thought we could go along
similar lines to that. We've both had a lot of success together. We'll probably
have a lot of success independently in the future."
