‘Saw’ director to produce ‘11.11.11’

Horror based on number 11 conspiracy theory

Darren Lynn Bousman, director of several movies in the Saw franchise, has announced he is making a new film that will open on November 11, 2011.

According to the HollywoodReporter.com, Bousman will team up with Dude, Where’s My Car? producer Wayne Rice to make the horror film based on the numerology movement.

The cult “11.11.11” movement centres on the belief that the number 11 is an alert to guardian angels trying to communicate with humans throughout history.

Bousman, who is writing the script, will expand on the idea of 11 gates of heaven and how, on 11.11 on the 11th day of the 11th month, the 11th gate will open up and something from another world will enter the earthly realm for 49 minutes.

“With Saw… my career has been about finding new ways to freak people out; that’s what I want to do with this… we want to take this phenomenon and give it horrific purpose,” he explained of the new project.
