Scissor Sisters score Number One double
Plus all the news from the UK singles and album charts tonight
Scissor Sisters have held off The Killers to secure a chart double tonight (September 24).
The band’s second album ’Ta-Dah!’ has topped the UK album charts in its first week, while single ’I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’, managed to secure a third week at Number One in the singles countdown.
The Killers meanwhile watched their comeback single ’When You Were Young’ rise to Number Two with its physical release. The track was Number Five last week on eligible downloads sales.
This week’s top ten singles are:
1. Scissor Sisters – ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’
2. The Killers – ‘When You Were Young’
3. Justin Timberlake – ‘Sexyback’
4. Nelly Furtado Ft Timbaland – ‘Promiscuous’
5. Fergie – ‘London Bridge’
6. Shakira Ft Wyclef Jean – ‘Hips Don't Lie’
7. Cascada – ‘Everytime We Touch’
8. Snow Patrol – ‘Chasing Cars’
9. Jamelia – ‘Something About You’
10. Pink – ‘U & Ur Hand’
Elsewhere the likes of Jet, The Zutons, Lily Allen and The Automatic have all entered the chart in the Top 30 on downloads, and are expected to rise in the coming week with the release of their physical singles.
In the album charts, aside from Scissor Sisters, Elton John is the highest new entry at Number Six with ’The Captain & The Kid’.
