Band confirm they will no longer play or write together

SCUM confirm split
S.C.U.M have announced that they have gone their separate ways after five years together.

The band, who formed in 2008, were led by Tom Cohen and also featured Bradley Baker, Samuel Kilcoyne, Huw Webb, and Melissa Rigby. The band did not give a reason for their split but have been on hiatus since playing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in August 2012. A message breaking the news to fans was posted on Facebook over the weekend (January 12), it read: "Hello everyone, It seems an appropriate time to announce after a long hiatus - S.C.U.M have collectively decided that we will no longer play or continue to write together."

"We'd all like to thank you for all of your support but we have chosen to part ways and work on new projects. See you all very soon."

SCUM released one album in their short lived career, 2011's 'Again Into Eyes', featuring the singles 'Amber Hands', 'Faith Unfolds' and 'Whitechapel'.

Frontman Tom Cohen recently became a father when his wife, Peaches Geldof, gave birth to a son named Astala in April 2012. The couple released a statement following the birth saying: "Peaches and Thomas are delighted to announce the birth of their son Astala. Both were overjoyed at his arrival this week."

The couple later wed in September of the same year, tying the knot in an intimate ceremony at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Kent, the same church Peaches' parents Bob Geldof and Paula Yates had their marriage blessed in 1986.
