Sebadoh set to reform

Lou Barlow and co set for live dates

US indie icons Sebadoh are set to reform for a series of live dates.

The shows will commence on February 26 in San Diego.

The group, featuring original members Lou Barlow, Jason Loewenstein and Eric Gaffney, decided to re-group following their work on the reissue of Sebadoh’s 1991 album ’III’ album.

Gaffney told Billboard: “It was my idea as much as anybody’s to tour again because if I was going to be putting out reissues and doing all of the business aspects, it just didn’t make sense to me for those guys go out on tour without me. And especially when the reissues are my records. I actually started the band, so that was sort of the push and incentive behind making it work.”

He mentioned that for their reunion shows, the band will included cover songs in their set - Hasil Adkins' ’Chicken Walk’ and DEVO’s ’Gates Of Steel’.

The band are currently finalising a UK and European leg of their tour - however, there are currently no plans to return to the studio.

“We’re just going to get through this (tour) and see where we’re at,” said Gaffney.

Barlow also recently rejoined another of his old band, Dinosaur Jr.. The band will shortly release their first album with Barlow back on board since 1988's 'Bug'.
