Sega’s Mega Drive is almost half the price this Cyber Monday

A massive drop in price for the retro console

More than two decades after it was discontinued, the Sega Mega Drive is back, and to celebrate Cyber Monday Argos has cut its price massively to give shoppers a saving of 42%. Instead of paying £59.99 for the console – which includes 81 games – today, you only have to pay £34.99.

The Mega Drive does not have HDMI connectivity, so you’ll need to use either a SCART connection or red, white and yellow RCA connectors – or, if necessary, an HDMI-to-SCART converter. Among the games included in the deal are: Bonanza Bros., Chess, Flicky, Golden Axe, Mortal Kombat, Skeleton Scale and Sonic The Hedgehog II, among many others.

Yesterday another retro console, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) sold out immediately after returning to stock on the Nintendo Store. Nintendo fans shouldn’t be disheartened: there are still many great Nintendo Switch deals out there for Cyber Monday.

Other retro items in the Cyber Monday lineup include these Nike shoes, as worn by Back To The Future‘s Marty McFly and Steve from Stranger Things. They’re currently sitting at £35.40.

Elsewhere we’d recommend these iPhone 8 deals and Samsung Galaxy S8 deals – and keep an eye on NME.com for more great Black Friday weekend deals as and when they come in.
