The reggae star is outselling DJ Pied Piper and Steps...

SHAGGY is set to hold onto his Number One position in Sunday's (June 10) UK single chart despite a Top 40 loaded with new entries.

The reggae-lite star had sold over 45,000 copies of 'Angel' up until this morning (June 7), well ahead of DJ Pied Piper, who is set to hold onto second place, and almost twice as many as the first new entry, a double A-side ('Here & Now'/'You'll Be Sorry') by Steps.

Faithless are sitting at Four in the midweek chart with their comeback single 'We Come 1', a place above Brandy and her cover of Phil Collins' 'Another Day In Paradise'. The fourth new entry is from Basement Jaxx, who currently sit at Six with 'Romeo'. Former Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow is at Eight with 'Close To You' and Muse with 'New Born' at Ten complete the current list of new entries on the Top Ten.

The Manic Street Preachers look set to miss the Top Ten as 'Ocean Spray' is currently at 12, while Mel B's solo career dips again as the heavily promoted 'Lullaby' is at 14. Roisin Murphy and Boris Dlugosch sit at 16 with 'Never Enough', while I Monster's 'Daydream In Blue' sits at 19.

On the album charts Radiohead are a shoe-in for the top spot again, as 'Amnesiac' is outselling Shaggy by almost three copies to one. A chart expert from HMV told NME.COM that he fully expected the Oxford five-piece to shift in excess of 100,000 by Sunday.
