But the indie newcomers are still no match for Shakira

The View score massive chart hit

Shakira has retained the Number One spot in the the UK singles chart for a third week with 'Hips Don't Lie'.

In a week where there was remarkably little change in the Top Ten. The only new arrivals are Snow Patrol, who move up three places to Ten with 'Chasing Cars'.

Elsewhere, in the Top 40 indie popsters The View, who also top the NME chart this week, have shot in with the second highest new entry. The Scots band entered the chart at Number 15 with their new single 'Wasted Little DJs' while Swedes Peter, Bjorn And John go in at 35 with acclaimes single and NME office stereo regular 'Young Folks'.

The Top Ten singles this week are:

1. Shakira - 'Hips Don't Lie'
2. Cascada - 'Everytime We Touch'
3. Christina Aguilera - 'Ain't No Other Man'
4. Rihanna - 'Unfaithful'
5. James Morrison - 'You Give Me Something'
6. Paris Hilton - 'Stars Are Blind'
7. Lily Allen - 'Smile'
8. Rogue Traders - 'Voodoo Child'
9. Paolo Nutini - 'Last Request'
10. Snow Patrol - 'Chasing Cars'


In the album chart James Morrison's 'Undiscovered' is top for a second week, just ahead of Snow Patrol's 'Eyes Open' and Razorlight's self-titled second album.
