SHED SEVEN FILL DODGY SLOT AT GUILDFORD

Shed Seven (right) join the bill at Guildford Festival as replacement Saturday main stage headliners, following the cancellation of Dodgy.

The band pulled out of the festival, which runs from August 7-9 at Guildford's Stoke Park, due to increasing friction between frontman Nigel Clarke and the rest of the band - guitarist Andy Miller and drummer Mathew Priest - over the future of Dodgy. Matters have also been compounded by the closure of the group's UK label A&M.

Shed Seven will top the Saturday bill that also includes Beth Orton and The Delgados.

Among other acts appearing at the three-day festival are Space, Bentley Rhythm Ace and Asian Dub Foundation (Friday) and Lightning Seeds and Ian Dury And The Blockheads (Sunday).

Tickets for the weekend cost #47.00, Friday tickets are #20.00 while Saturday and Sunday entrance costs #24.00. Weekend camping (capacity 6,000) costs #14.00 per pitch. Information hotline 01484-454-159 (UK).
