‘Sherlock Holmes’ writer to pen new Jack Ryan film

Anthony Peckham to take on Tom Clancy spy drama

Sherlock Holmes screenwriter Anthony Peckham has signed on to pen the latest Jack Ryan adventure.

The writer, who also worked on Invictus and Book of Eli, will take the lead for a new film based on the main character from Tom Clancy‘s successful spy novels.

Jack Ryan was first played by Alec Baldwin in 1990’s The Hunt For Red October, before being replaced by Harrison Ford for Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger.

The new film will follow Ryan‘s early CIA adventures, and will feature Star Trek‘s Chris Pine in the lead role.
