Sigur Ros are gearing up for a host of releases across the year.

The band are planning a series of music, DVD and book projects.

The Icelandic group kick off with a new book ‘In A Frozen Sea’, out June 1, which features a series of images from the band’s 2006 tour of their home country.

A special limited edition of the book will come in vinyl packaging and will includes several of the band’s albums on 12-inch, including ‘Smaskifa’, which is being issued on the format for the first time especially for this release.

The publication is part of a new title called ’a+r’ which will provide similarly deluxe looks at other bands in the future. See ainr.com for more information.

Meanwhile Sigur-ros.co.uk reports that the band plan to follow this up with a new EP in August, and acoustic album in October, the details of which will be confirmed soon.

Sigur Ros are also involved in releasing their soundtrack of 2002 film ’Hlemmur’ on CD and DVD in July, while a live recording of their 2002 orchestra piece ’Odin’s Raven Magic’ is set to be released on similar formats in January next year.
