Sigur Ros, The Mars Volta close day two at Latitude

It's an evening of epicness over in Suffolk

Sigur Ros, The Mars Volta close day two at Latitude

Sigur Ros brought the second day of Latitude Festival to a psychedelic close tonight (July 19).

Iceland's favourite epic rock band headlined the festival's Main Stage with a set that showcased tracks from their current album 'Með Suð í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust' alongside old favourites like 'Hoppipolla' and 'Glosoli'.

As is customary, they were joined onstage by all-female string section Amiina.

Over at the Uncut Arena, prog pioneers The Mars Volta put in an eventful two-hour set that saw them cover garage legends The Sonics' classic 'Strychnine' over five euphoric minutes.

Earlier on, Elbow played a rousing show with the assistance of a three-piece string section that drew heavily from current album 'The Seldom Seen Kid'.

NME.COM's sister site Uncut.co.uk will be bringing you all the action, with news, blogs, reviews and pictures live from the site, so make sure you tune in all weekend (July 18-20).
