Sigur Ros appeared on an episode of The Simpsons this weekend (May 19) – scroll down to watch it.

Entitled 'The Saga Of Carl', the programme sees the characters Homer, Moe, Lenny and Carl chase Carl to his home country of Iceland after he runs off with a winning lottery ticket the group bought together. It features new music by the band, as well as their take on The Simpsons' theme song. Björk also makes a cameo in her famed swan dress.

Speaking about their involvement with the show previously, Sigur Ros said in a statement: "The band's music scores Homer's visit to Iceland, make an unprecedented musical collaboration between the show and a band; with this episode, Sigur Ros have written and performed more original music for The Simpsons than any other outside band in the show's history."

Sigur Ros join a long list of musicians who have made a guest appearance in the series including Tom Waits, Smashing Pumpkins, The White Stripes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Lady Gaga, Sonic Youth and The Decemberists - pictured.
