Simian Mobile Disco recruit Gossip's Beth Ditto and Gruff Rhys
James Ford says the band's next album could be out in early 2009
Simian Mobile Disco have roped in the Gossip's Beth Ditto and Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals and Neon Neon to sing on their forthcoming second album.
Speaking to NME.COM, the electro outfit's James Ford said that Ditto's appearance on the album was "a blinder".
He said: "The song [Ditto sings on] is not very Gossip-y. It's more electronic and poppy, a bit old-school.
"The song Gruff sings on is more psychedelic, with a Todd Rundgren-esque edge."
Ford added that the band have completed about half of the album, and aim to release it in early 2009.
