SIMPLY RED singer MICK HUCKNALL was cleared of rape allegations after a dramatic arrest ordeal at the weekend.

The 40-year-old singer was arrested at his Surrey mansion on Sunday (November 26) after eight police vehicles swooped on his home and searched it.

The millionaire star was taken to a police station in Woking and questioned for six hours. He was released on bail, and police dropped their investigation last night (November 27).

His manager Ian Grenfell told The Sun this morning: "Mick is very, very relieved this is all over. The last day with this hanging over him has been a total nightmare. He knew the allegations would never go very far, but it has left him shaken."
