Jeremy Clarkson labels Sinead O'Connor 'bonkers' following BBC appearance
Appearance on The Andrew Marr saw singer criticise her host on live TV
The singer was a guest on BBC1's The Andrew Marr Show and appeared unimpressed by stand-in host Eddie Mair's abilities, sarcastically thanking him for giving her "the greatest interview I've ever done". Later on in the interview, O'Connor claimed her latest album ''is "the best album anyone has made, ever".
Fans of the musician expressed their concern for O'Connor via Twitter, though others took the opportunity to make fun of her, who has been open about her battle with bipolar disorder in the past.
Among those who took the latter option was Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson who tweeted the following:
Did anyone else see Sinead O'Connor on the Andrew Marr show? I think she might be a bit bonkers.— Jeremy Clarkson (@JeremyClarkson) February 17, 2013
Last week, O'Connor congratulated the outgoing Pope on his retirement, saying: "I would like to congratulate Pope Benedict on his wise decision to retire before the very worst of what has been going on is discovered. I appreciate his alluding to some of it in his statement and assure him The Most High forgives those who can faithfully say they did wrong."
She also revealed recently that Noel Gallagher onceasked her to marry him.
