Skinny Puppy announce details of new album

Skinny Puppy have announced the details of their 13th studio album.

The Canadian industrial rockers, who paved the way for goth-rock acts like Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, will release ‘Mythmaker’ on January 30.

The album features contributions from long-time Skinny Puppy[a] collaborators Ken Marshall and Otto Von Schirach.

The band likens the new material to their late ‘80s/early ‘90s albums ‘Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse’ and ‘Too Dark Park’.

Speaking about the new album, [a]Skinny Puppy frontman Nivek Ogre said: “Control is the central concept to the record, the idea where mythic archetypes are clung to in an effort to preserve their own fucked-up sensibility. At the core, ‘Mythmaker’ surrounds the things people do, calculatingly or not, to either prop themselves up - like MySpace - or protect themselves.”

‘Pasturn’, a track from the new album, can be previewed on the band’s MySpace page Myspace.com/skinnypuppy.
