Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash seems determined to carry on working with senior British crooners - first came Tom Jones and now he looks set to collaborate with ROD STEWART.
An Australian website claims that Slash accepted an invitation from the veteran football lover to sit in on sessions for his new album.
No other details of time or place of the meeting are available but a UK spokesperson for Slash said that though it was not out of the question he could neither confirm nor deny the story.
Slash met Tom Jones prior to a New Year's Eve concert in Washington. The two bonded so well in the bar prior to the show, that Slash decided to ditch his prearranged vocalist John Fogerty and instead join the Welsh legend onstage. After the show, at which they performed Wilson Pickett's 'In The Midnight Hour', Bob Marley's 'One Love', and Woody Guthrie's 'This Land Is Your Land', Slash, joined Jones and Kenny Rogers in the White House. Slash's manager Tom Maher said afterwards that future work between him and Tom Jones was likely.
Slash's long awaited second solo album now looks likely to be released before Christmas. A spokesperson at his new label Koch confirmed that an October release for 'Ain't That Grand' was likely internationally but said no date had been fixed yet for the UK.
Slash kicks off a 31-date stop US tour with AC/DC in Grand Rapids Michigan on August 1.
