Doctors advise the band not to hit the road

Sleater-Kinney have been forced to cancel their UK and European tour dates.

The band were due to kick off the jaunt at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on November 8, but singer Carrie Brownstein has been told not to head out on the road.

A statement from the band explained: “Sleater-Kinney regretfully must cancel their November European dates on account of medical issues. Guitarist/singer Carrie Brownstein has suffered two severe allergic reactions within the past four months, both resulting in trips to the emergency room.”

They added: “Her doctor has advised that she not travel/tour for prolonged periods of time until the condition stabilises and further tests are conducted. The band apologizes to all the people that this cancellation affects."

Sleater-Kinney are hoping to reschedule the dates for next Spring when they return to the UK to curate The United Sounds Of ATP event between May 19-21 at Camber Sands.

The cancelled dates are:

Brighton Concorde 2 (November 8)
Bristol Fleece (9)
Nottingham Rescue Rooms (10)
Glasgow Oran Mor (11)
Leeds Cockpit (12)
Paris Nouveau Casino (14)
Cologne Gebaude 9 (15)
Hamburg Knust (16)
Berlin Maria (17)
Barcelona Apolo (19)
Madrid Arena (20)
