A Slipknot fan has died after suffering a heart attack at one of the metal band's gigs in Iowa.

Corey Nickels, 29, collapsed on the concourse level of the Mid-America Center at 10:30pm (CST) on Sunday night (January 25) after watching the band, suffering cardiac arrest as rescue staff attended to him, reports Nonpareilonline.com.

The fan was pronounced dead at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital after CPR failed to revive him.

Autopsy results are pending. Friends said Nickels had a history of heart problems in his family.

The incident is not the first time a fan has died from a heart attack at a gig by the band. In 2004 Alecia Holst suffered a heart attack at one of the band's shows in Detroit and died four days later.

I had the good fortune to meet Joey Jordison and Corey Taylor at Heathrow Airport once, and they were two of the loveliest and most unaffected people I've ever met in the business of show. Shame their records are such shit...

Corey Taylor, that cunt was on MTV2's Review Of 2008 and he reminded me of your average bully boy cock head American 'jock' (as they cheesily put it). Had absolutely no good things to say about anything, the rest were cringing at his rants. I was flicking him the V throughout as I watched, the wanker. He then went on about how he wished Chris Martin was dead before admitting he liked Clocks. What a tool. Seriously, why have him on? He gave me the creeps just watching him. It's blatantly obvious that if he's in a band like Slipknot he's been reared on god awful music himself as a kid. Good choice MTV2, really well rounded opinions.

he was a long haired nerd loser with a D&D board game and just happens has a sick voice... Seeing him go from fat wit long hair to some guy who looks like a underwear model with a shaved head is odd.. Joey is so tight he borders stiff the whole time. Im not sure thats a good thing always.
