Slipknot have announced plans to broadcast their closing performance at their Stateside Knotfest festival next month via a pay-per-view streaming site.

The band are hosting two one day events, the first on August 17 at Mid America Motorplex, Council Bluffs, Iowa and the second on August 18 at Somerset Amphitheater in Somerset on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border. They will stream their closing set at the second date via TODOCAST and Synergy Global Entertainment.

The streaming site will launch on August 11 – for more information and sign up details, visit: eventviewlive.com

About the streaming, Shawn Crahan of the band says: "It means everything for everyone to see the live spectacle we're creating in the flesh, but we understand some fans around the world can't be at the show. We've now made it possible for you to be there in spirit - so join us live on August 18."

Streaming will cost from $14.95 (£9.63) to $19.95 (£12.85). The package will include backstage footage, a tour of the festival grounds, interviews with other artists on the bill and post show interviews with Slipknot.

Slipknot release their new 'Best Of' compilation 'Antennas To Hell' on July 23. It features a total of 19 tracks, including classic singles 'Wait And Bleed', 'Left Behind', 'Duality' and 'Psychosocial'. The album, which is comprised of tracks from across Slipknot's four studio albums as well as remixes and live cuts, also comes with notes on their career, a DVD of their live show at 2009's Download Festival and a series of video montages of Slipknot.

Earlier this year Slipknot told NME that they will enter the studio in early 2013 to record the follow-up to their fourth album, 2008's 'All Hope Is Gone'. Sid Wilson of Slipknot said that the band would enter the studio as soon as singer Corey Taylor had completed his touring with side project Stone Sour.
