Smashing Pumpkins announce reunion shows

Smashing Pumpkins have announced their first reunion shows.

The Chicago-based rockers will headline the Rock am Ring, and Rock im Park festivals in Germany.

The festivals will take place June 2 at Nürburgring and June 3 at Zeppelinfeld.

The current band lineup includes frontman Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. It remains to be seen whether other original members will return for the shows.

These will be the Smashing Pumpkins' first live performances since they disbanded in 2000.

Also on the bill for the German festivals are Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, My Chemical Romance and The Kooks.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow (January 27). They can be purchased here: Tickets-per-post.de
