Smashing Pumpkins live in Paris

'Tarantula' to come out in July

are set to release their new single ’Tarantula’ on July 2.

It’s taken from their forthcoming comeback album ’Zeitgeist’, which is released on July 9.

The album is their first new album since 2000’s ’Machina/The Machines Of God’.

The band only features two original members Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. The band will be augmented by guitarist Jeff Schroeder, keyboardist Lisa Harriton and bassist Ginger Reyes for live dates.

They will play one-off shows at London Shepherd’s Bush Empire (June 19) and Glasgow Carling Academy (August 22) before headlining the Carling Weekend: Reading And Leeds Festivals over the weekend of August 24-26.
