Incident happened at the band's Vancouver gig
A fan died at a Smashing Pumpkins gig in Vancouver, Canada on Monday night (September 24), after being involved in what police described as a “mosh pit or crowd-surfing incident”.
Police explained that the man was removed unconscious from the crowd inside the PNE Forum venue.
First aid specialists attempted to revive him before he was transferred to the nearby St Paul’s Hosptial where he was pronounced dead.
Police explained that they did not suspect any foul play and the circumstances were “not suspicious”, claiming that the death was due to an “out of control mosh pit”.
A spokeswoman for the venue said: “It's just a really, really sad ending to what started out to be probably a very fun night for a young man.”
