Smashing Pumpkins wrap up UK tour
Smashing Pumpkins
Billy Corgan's band close jaunt with mammoth set
Smashing Pumpkins brought their UK tour to a close with a mammoth London show last night (February 16).
The reformed rockers played the 02 Arena as Billy Corgan's band rattled off 28 songs for a concert that lasted for over two hours.
And there was no repeat of the incident at the gig at Nottingham Arena two nights previously, where the band, having played for an hour and a half, left the stage with an hour of their rehearsed material left unplayed.
In fact, the normally reclusive Corgan had spent the afternoon meeting fans at the Oxford Street branch of the Zavvi record store.
The singer wore a long, silver skirt as he led his band through songs dating from their 1991 debut 'Gish' to last year's comeback 'Zeitgeist'.
Later he brought the only surviving member and former founder of the Pumpkins, drummer Jimmy Chamberlain to the front of the stage as the pair performed an acoustic version of 'Try, Try, Try'.
Smashing Pumpkins played:
'Porcelina'
'Nightmare'
'Bring The Light'
'Tonight, Tonight'
'Mayonaise'
'Try, Try Try'
'Superchrist'
'C'Mon Let's Go!'
'Stellar'
'Perfect'
'Lily'
'The Rose March'
'Today'
'Tarantula'
'Stand Inside Your Love'
'Ava Adore'
'Drown'
'Bullet With Butterfly Wings'
'1979'
'That's The Way (My Love Is)'
'My Blue Heaven'
'The Everlasting Gaze'
'Car Crash Star'
'Daydream'
'Wound'
'United States'
'Lips Of Sugar'
'Cherub Rock'
Support came from Manchester prog rockers Oceansize.
