Billy Corgan sues filmmaker
Smashing Pumpkins frontman seeks $100,000 in damages
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is suing an Illinois filmmaker, alleging his work was sub-par and that he refused to give him the video footage owed him unless he receives more money.
According to the suit filed last week, Corgan is seeking more than $100,000 in damages from Lester Cohn of Pure DV Productions, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Corgan said that Cohen was hired to film his concerts and studio sessions from 2003 to 2005, which Corgan said was "completely unsatisfactory and not completed in a professional, workmanlike manner in accordance with the standards of a music filmmaker."
He also alleges that Cohen is refusing to turn over much of the video footage owed to him.
Meanwhile, the Smashing Pumpkins are gearing up for a series of 20th anniversary shows, as previously reported.
