Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan collapses onstage in Florida
The Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan collapsed onstage on Wednesday night (July 21) during a gig in Tampa, Florida.

Playing at Ritz Ybor as part of an intimate tour of the US, the frontman appeared dizzy during their performance of their 1995 single 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings', before stumbling and falling to the ground, reports ContactMusic.com.

"For those that saw me fall last night during 'Bullet [With Butterfly Wings]' that wasn't a stage move or clumsiness," Corgan wrote on his Twitter page - Twitter.com/Billy. "That was me blacking out and wiping out."

He added: "I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet, but I can tell you I've got quite a good bruise + am moving slow."

The band are set to continue their gig-run with a show at Valarium in Knoxville, Tennessee tonight (July 23).

Meanwhile, The Smashing Pumpkins are to play a benefit concert to raise money for Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone, who was recently left with severe brain trauma after intervening in a domestic dispute.
