Smoke Fairies announce fourth album and new video – watch
'Smoke Fairies' will be released on April 14 with 'Eclipse Them All' out now
The duo, Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies, have also release a single, 'Eclipse Them All' which is available to download now.
Of the new album, Blamire said: "This album gave us the opportunity to actually be two voices, rather than two voices as one entity: two people talking to each other as distinct characters. They're the messages that we send to each other."
The album was produced by Kristofer Harris at Squarehead Studio located on a industrial estate in Kent. There are currently no live shows in place but are expected to be announced soon.
Shortly after forming, Blamire and Davies went to New Orleans for a year to immerse themselves in American blues music. Upon their return to the UK, while working as car park attendants, they toured British folk festivals before relocating once again to Vancouver in Canada for a year.
In 2007, the year they released their debut album 'Strange The Things' , they supported Bryan Ferry on a tour of the UK, and in 2009, Richard Hawley, who described them as "the best thing" he'd heard in years. That same year they became the first UK signing to Jack White's Third Man Records and supported Laura Marling on a tour of the US. Their second album 'Through Low Light And Trees' was released in 2010, with their third album, 'Blood Speaks' released in 2012.
