Snoop Dogg takes the stand in assault trial Snoop Dogg Tickets

Rap star claims he didn't hit the alleged victim

Snoop Dogg takes the stand in assault trial

Snoop Dogg took the stand in a civil assault trial in California today (April 27).

The rap star is being sued by Richard Monroe Jr, who claims that Snoop Dogg and his entourage seriously injured him when he came on stage during a concert in Seattle.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, testified today that he did not hit Monroe with a brass knuckle microphone as the man alleges, reports the Associated Press.

He added that Monroe has only himself to blame for whatever injuries he may have sustained and added that he should not have gotten onstage.

Monroe is seeking $22 million in damages from the rapper.
